The List Maker

I have always loved lists...well, let me clarify.

I love checking things off of lists.

I started lists when the kids were young, for David primarily.

Because he always forgot what he was suppose to do.

But Michael is the one who took list making to a new level.

I watch Michael and his lists and go....Oh! What a good idea! That would work for me,

and so I make my lists on my phone too!

Isn't that what we hope for with our kids? That they will take some nugget we taught them, and make it better?

Or that they find things we didn't even know! And then teach it to us.

Michael and his spread sheets.

He is a Dave Ramsey, Financial guru. And he helps us.

Do you know how difficult it is to allow your kids to give you financial advice?

Well....it is.

But with love, and grace, he gives great advice!

And he is intentional!

If you've ever been "an item" on a list, please, PLEASE don't take offense!

Do you know that us "list makers" put the important things on lists?

As I watch Michael, I witness what intentionality looks like.

And he is intentional with us.

He is intentional with his time,

He is intentional with his conversations,

and he is intentional with his words.

I love this about Michael.

And, gifts is one of his love languages- like me!

So, we love giving, and getting gifts!!!

I was able to surprise him this week with a Thing blanket as he was speaking at Camas Meadows Bible Camp.

Can I tell you how giddy I was putting together and sewing his blanket?

It was like a Christmas is the 2000s!!! When I sewed pajamas, but ran out of material on Michael’s…on Christmas Eve… so he had capris!

And I cracked myself up!!!

And he wore them to every wrestling tournament!!!

Or his aunt at Costco for me snatching that X-Box!!! Knowing how much joy the surprise would be because he wasn’t expecting it! And how much joy it brought me making it happen!!!

I felt that so strongly this week.

God showed me that healing takes time.

And it is happening.

Life is still oh so good!
